Piazza Campo de Fiori

Hotel Casa Tra Noi Rome is one of the cheapest hotel in the city, located at just 3 km from Piazza Campo de Fiori, which up to 1400 AD did not exist as such, and in its place there was a flower meadow with some cultivated vegetable, hence the name. The square owes its fame to the episode of the philosopher Giordano Bruno burned at the stake by the Catholic Inquisition for heresy on February 17, 1600 AD.
The execution is now commemorated by a statue erected in 1889 AD by the sculptor Ettore Ferrari and situated in the middle of Campo de Fiori. Since 1869, the square is seat of a lively and picturesque market, whose popular atmosphere is well made thanks to the known movie “Campo de 'Fiori” in 1943, with Anna Magnani and Aldo Fabrizi. Today Campo dei Fiori, represent one of the places where Rome shows with greater transparency its most authentic character from the early morning with the outdoor market, until late at night with the entertainment offered by bar, restaurants and trattorias.
